How the three tools work together
Property and logistics decisions tend to run in the same order: how big is the site, what does that figure mean in the unit the other side uses, and how much do we need to put on it. The tools follow that order.
- Measure the land. Search for the place and trace the boundary with the Map Area Calculator. It reads out the area in acres, square feet, hectares and the local units of your state, with the perimeter and a downloadable PDF, KML or GeoJSON file.
- Speak the same unit. A land record may give hectares and ares, a seller guntha or bigha, a drawing square metres. The Area Converter turns any of them into the others and marks which local units are fixed and which vary by district.
- Size the cargo. The CBM & Container Load Calculator works out the volume and weight of a shipment and estimates the containers it needs, which helps when you plan how much storage space you will need.
When you need the space itself
Once you know how much room you need, Farbe Enterprise arranges warehouse space for rent and 3PL warehousing for businesses across India. If you are looking for land or a ready building, Farbe Spaces, our marketplace, lists land, industrial property and warehouses from owners and brokers across India. The same area converter, with each state's sources for local land units, is also on Farbe Spaces.
How accurate are the tools?
They are planning tools. The calculations are exact for what you enter, but a map is only as precise as the picture and the corners you place, and a unit such as the bigha changes from place to place. For a purchase, lease or registration, go by the area in the title documents and land records, or by a licensed survey.
